A funny thing happened on the way to the present. With the advent of smart phones, tablets, emails, pdfs, e-books and pretty much information at our finger tips 24/7 it has been predicted for some time now that actually printing information on paper and mailing it to people who want it would become a thing of the past. Well as Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.”
I have seen a noticeable uptick in our print and mail services over the last few months. While it is hard to know exactly why anything in aggregate happens the way it does, I think there are some basic factors that are driving it. I get the sense that by using our online tools such as websites, email marketing and social media it is helping client’s attract more qualified leads so now when they actually send them a printed piece furthering the message content it has a much bigger impact because it is now something that was requested as opposed to showing up out of the blue.
Many of our print and mail brethren have gone out of business over the last 10 years. It is frightening really. I think the reason we continue to survive and hopefully grow is our full service approach. We are unusual in that we can help with not only the printing of a project, but can also personalize each piece with relevant information. This greatly affects it’s final impact and as we continue the service by handling the logistics through the mail-stream direct to the delivery mailbox. For example, if you receive a postcard, flyer or catalog from a business who includes a list of stores addresses, phone numbers, email addresses to follow up with, business hours of each store it can greatly enhance its value and in turn helps drive response rates. Today a client can give us a .pdf, an excel file and we do the rest (print it, personalize it & mail it).
When you have a need for sending postcards, letters, brochures, announcements or catalogs to clients who show an interest in your product or service, please keep us in mind.
