I oftentimes receive calls from clients needing to quickly print decals and stickers in small quantities. In the past we would print them on our digital press on either a permanent or removable pressure sensitive vinyl and then use our guillotine cutter for trimming in either a square or rectangular shape. If a client wanted a circle, oval or custom shape for the decal, it was always received with an internal sigh because it meant having to include die cutting charges which are expensive and slow to produce. If the qty’s are large absorbing the additional die cut charges may not be noticeable but in small qty’s, the impact is much more severe.
Now for the good news. We have added a digital die cutter so now we can produce decals of most any shape and size on our large format printers and then contour cut them on demand. Not only can you print in small qty’s from 1 to 1000+ we can also trim the decals to most any shape you might need such as a circle, oval or custom shape. No more having to order or locate dies. No more large die set up charges and no more having to wait a week or two for a die to come in.
Decals can be printed on an opaque white stock or on a clear stock. When printing on clear stocks we typically print with a white ink backer so the colors look good regardless of where the decal is placed. If the decals will be used outside or exposed to moisture, a variety of laminates can be added to increase durability and longevity.
When the qty’s are large we work with trade label printers who supply the labels on rolls to fit automated label applicators. Whether the qty need is small or large, we usually can assist with a solution.
