Recently we produced some pretty exciting results for customers at both trade shows and retail. In this case I am talking about counter cards (those things that have easels on the back typically sitting on checkout counters and tables where business is being conducted).
Why do these things work? You never really know for sure but I think the main reason is they typically work like your website. They are your silent salesperson. Nonthreatening and easy to use. They tell your story, offer information, convey important messages and oftentimes are complemented with a call to action such as a “take me” tear pad entry or coupon. Add a phone interactive component and then you are really cooking with something fun. For some reason these things convey a sense of urgency making you think “If I don’t at least glance at this thing I might be missing something.” Curiosity can be a powerful motivator and when complemented with appropriate pictures, text and shapes you have a low cost way to make a difference at the last mile – when and where your client is!
Interestingly these can also be especially helpful for promoting your Social Media channels and digital assets at information desks, waiting areas and countertops. You can also position them at your retail locations near the register to call attention to specific products and promotions or strategically throughout a store for showcasing a special. We have also been making a lot of counter cards for use at trade shows to highlight important product and company information.
