It is funny how things work out. A few months ago I was working on a Sunday afternoon and received an e-mail from a valued client who needed a large estimate quickly to establish a budget for a big event that was coming his way. I was able to remote into work, figure out a pricing plan and respond in a matter of a few hours. The client was ecstatic for the quick response and then I never heard back from there.
Two months pass by and again on Sunday I get another urgent alert from the same client who informed me the job I quoted was awarded to another vendor over his objections but now he was being forced to pull the job from the other folks because they were being unresponsive and could not get the colors right. Uh oh… now we get to try and produce two months worth of work in 4 working days. OMG! When speakers say, there is no “I” in team, they mean it. I am fortunate to work with many gifted and responsive folks both in and outside my company who helped pull off this minor miracle for this medical company.
We made 6 Custom Aluminum frames using our new Navigator Line for making customizable lightweight portable displays, provided CAD drawings for review and then printed dye sub stretch pillow case graphics to cover them – making them look like a million bucks. We also printed a series of giant 2/Sided banners all starting on a Monday and landing in Florida on a Friday. At that point I thought mission accomplished till I learned on Saturday there was a hiccup and a few of the 2/Sided Banners needed to be redone because of a mix-up. Again… OMG.. Now what? Fortunately the team rallied the troops, worked Sunday morning and had the new banners on a plane Sunday night to Florida to be hung that night for the opening ceremony Monday morning. You just can’t cut it much closer than that.
