After many years of searching we are adopting a new way to produce eye popping window graphics so I thought I would share some of the details so you can see why I think our way is different and better than what most everyone else is doing today. Recently I received an email asking about producing a series of window graphics that needed to be printed on clear material so when placed on the outside of the windows you could see both the graphic and through the window too. I was also sent photos showing what someone else did. The other vendor’s graphic did not print with white inks, did not install well resulting in wrinkles during application and the clear material was actually frosted instead of clear.
I could totally relate to this challenge and in years past have been involved in projects with similar results. The reason all this is challenging is two-fold. The first challenge has been with materials. The material suppliers claim their material is clear but when used on site it never really is. The second requirement when printing on clear materials is you need to have the ability to print with white inks. If you print on clear material and do not back up the art with white inks the image will look washed out and not appear crisp and bright when applied to the window.
Thanks to our latest investments we now print all our window graphics in full color high definition and with white inks if needed. We have also adopted a brand new window graphic material that is honestly clear, adheres to a variety of surfaces including glass, metal, plex and more. For application there is NO Static, NO Cling, NO Adhesive formula, and NO Laminate needed. Instead the graphic attaches with Micro-Adhesion vacuum technology. You have to use water and a squeegee to apply the graphic so it takes a little effort but the end results are amazing. You don’t get the typical streaking that results from static clings and where you want to see through via the clear material, you actually can. You can see more on this by clicking here.
