What makes Swift Print Communications different from the others?
If you do not want to be easily replaced then you need to have something unique and special to offer. At Swift Print we are more than the products we make. We strive to be craftsmen in everything we do so our customers have the best experience possible. This starts with graphic enthusiasts who not only study our craft while on the clock but off the clock too. It shows in both a deep product knowledge and carries forward in the little things (such as how our e-proofs are different from everyone else’s with photos, icons, exact details, renderings at times).
Want specifics of what makes us different? Here we go:
- I delivered a proof to a client recently and they said, “You know I love the printing but I don’t like the paper. Let’s change it to an uncoated stock…. Can you provide some paper examples I can keep on hand when this comes up again?” Sounds easy enough but when you have 100’s of options to choose from it can actually be a daunting task. I mentioned it to one coworker who mentioned it to the GM and the next thing I know, we are producing this really cool paper sample book to give to clients when this comes up again. If you want one let me know.
- We have a customer who needed a complex estimate on a synthetic stock with special finishing requirements to create a carrier for a brochure inside that can be mailed and look brilliant upon arrival, after being opened and then handled repeatedly afterwards. Printing on synthetic stocks can be tricky with heavy coverage and long dry times, tearing if die cutting and finishing and the base stock is expensive compared to traditional papers. After team discussions a better way was hatched (printing on traditional paper, adding a gloss laminate and then inline matte etching to create a one of kind contrast). I hope we get it. More to come.
- We print a lot of things on a variety of printers and there is no magic bullet for having the color match across every media, printer and substrate. We have lots of systems in place to achieve very close results but there are times everything just does not come together as hoped. Recently when on a press check I noticed the press sheet and the digital proof from another department was not as close in color as I thought it could be. When this brought up a group effort began immediately to see why this was and what could be done about it. Through the seeds of failure new successes are born and this was no different. Today the matches between the two processes are better than I have ever seen before.
Oftentimes we are making something that has not been made before. It can range from printing and installing wall graphics in a business, printing sign packages for walls, windows and floors to imaging on metals and acrylics and then figuring out to hang and mount them. Fun, spirited and printed by folks who see the end product as more than a job but instead a piece of art. That is why I love this place and what makes us different.
