The 2015 Specialty Graphics Imaging Association (SGIA) trade show is in the books. Below is a quick recap of what we think are some of our most interesting finds.
- Does anyone else hate banners that are curled and look cheap? We found a new material that is both opaque (unlike fabric graphics where there is show through) and is anti curl. We invested in a new 64” wide photo printer and combined with this new material I think we have a game changer for printing graphics/banners going into our pull up displays. The end results are photo quality, anti curl and value priced. Hopefully a winning combo for us all.
- Ever walk into a restaurant and see a logo’d chalkboard with a special or two written on it? Now we can make those in most any size and qty. We found a source for chalk board coated foam core that works in our Oce Flatbed Printer. Lightweight, low cost and customizable. Pretty amazing stuff. I’m still working out the details on this one but excited for what is coming.
- Ever walk into Panera, local pub or store and see business cards tacked onto a corkboard? Every one that I have ever seen has been blank with business cards and flyers tacked onto them. Now they can be logo’d and branded because we found a source for corkboard coated foam core that also works in our flat bed printer. Who knew?
This is my top 3 findings in terms of new materials so I hope you find it helpful and inspiring. Also shown are a few photos showing even more ideas. Keep in touch and let me know if you see any display, print or mail related projects where we can lend a hand.
